Howard Tenens, Groundwell, Swindon
Our teams have completed a full refurbishment to the walls and roof of one of many Howard Tenens premises in the UK.
Returning client Howard Tenens required our teams to carry out a re-coating services at their site at Groundwell, Swindon. Over the last few years we have built a relationship together and have already completed onsite spraying and refurbishments at several sites including Andover, Sharpness, Europa Park, Swindon and now Groundwell, Swindon. Their site at Swindon offers warehousing and transport services across a wide range of industries.
Howard Tenens was established in 1953, and today it has grown into one of the largest independently owned and operated logistics companies in the UK. Originally carrying out packing and manufacturing operations, to now being an industry-leader in complex logistics with a great reputation to uphold. The company knew that their site needed to look smart but more importantly be able to live up to their business operations.
Having worked together in the past, Cladding Coatings were familiar with the requirements of the logistics firm and we didn’t hesitate to provide them with the excellent service they needed, we made arrangements to plan the large project into our work schedule as soon as we could.
Initially a detailed site survey was carried out by our experienced surveyor and a recommendation of work was delivered alongside costs and specifications of the selected coating system.
Once our teams arrived on site the preparation work began to ensure that the surface of the metal sheeting was cleaned thoroughly and free from debris. We know from experience that this is a key difference in the quality of the finish and the longevity of the coating. Our teams also ensure to protect the environment around them by covering soft ground, sheeting windows and vents and the use of dryfall paint ensures there is no overspray to land on equipment or vehicles for example.
Onsite spraying was carried out to the external metal wall cladding on all elevations and to the entire roof area of this expansive building. Prior to starting the roof coating work the RoofSafe system was installed to ensure that all our team were safe whilst working at height. The system we use is the 3M™ DBI-SALA® RoofSafe Anchor and Cable System. The RoofSafe system is a series of horizontal lines anchored at points around the roof which is then attached to a harness forming a fall arrest system. If anyone were to fall from or through the roof, this would limit the fall and protect them from a significant injury.
For the external cladding, we elected to use the trusted Noxyde® system from Rust-Oleum. This water-based coating system is ideal for spray application, and it offers excellent corrosion protection for metal cladding. The finish is long lasting, hardwearing and high quality due to the expert application by our experiences team.
During this project we were able to provide a quotation for Solar panel installation which was accepted and is now installed on the roof area. Adding solar panels not only increases the property value but it saves money in energy costs and improves building performance. The panels add to the aesthetics of the building and are a very modern and stylish adornment to the roof.
Overall Howard Tenens have been pleased with our work on this project and now have a refurbished exterior to be proud of. Our roof and wall cladding coating work has a minimum guarantee of 10 years so the coating is sure to last for years to come.
