Railway Station, Swansea

Existing copper cladding at this railway station required re-coating to leave a fresh, clean and modern finish. The paint colour chosen brightened up the ticket office and retail fronts.

On-site coating to refurbish existing copper panels and tidy up the units external appearance to provide a smart looking finish.

Having a busy central transport hub such as a railway station means that hundreds if not thousands of staff and passengers pass through your building every day. Whilst high footfall is excellent for business. It can mean that your building and facilities start to show signs of wear and tear.

When visiting your premises, you want your customers to feel safe and trust the services you offer. That is why refurbishing and fixing building issues when they arise is crucial. Tackling problems when they arise could also prevent more significant disruption and cost in the future.

In March, our Contracts Manager, Jake, managed an on-site coating project at Swansea Railway Station. Careful project management and planning was required as the busy Railway Station was open and operational to customers and staff. Thanks to our knowledge and expertise, we could complete this project safely and effectively using our specialist systems to deliver a professional façade finish.

Trusted systems for professional on-site coating

Copper panels on the ticket office and a retail shopfront at the Railway station required repainting to smarten up their appearance. As an area that passengers use regularly, it is essential that the units look tidy and professional. We used our trusted Noxyde paint system and Topcoat by Rust-Oleum as it is hardwearing and provides excellent anti-corrosion properties. There were also some roller shutter doors situated next to one of the platforms that needed re-coating. We used our specialist door coating systems to refurbish and prolong the life of the existing roller shutter doors. All of our work comes backed by our minimum 10-year guarantee, so you can rest assured that your refurbishment will look good for years to come.

Careful planning and project management

As the railway station was open and operational throughout this on-site coating project, it was essential that the work was well planned and managed effectively. Of course, as always health and safety of our team, passengers and staff at the railway station was a top priority. Working safely and efficiently to minimise disruption was vital, particularly when working on one of the station platforms that was potentially close to passengers. As with any project, health and safety is always adhered to, and so are the governments latest guidelines, giving you the ultimate peace of mind.

Minimising disruption for better customer service

Many of the projects we work on are operational during a ‘typical’ working day, and some are even operating twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. So when it came to completing this on-site coating project at the railway station, we knew that our team could work effectively to complete the project with minimal disruption to the client and their customers.

On occasion, it is simply impossible for our team to work when a business is open. This is why we work closely with our clients throughout the project to determine the best solutions to get the work completed. Sometimes this can mean working at night or over weekends. At Cladding Coatings, we try our utmost to provide the best customer service possible. That is why we will work to accommodate your needs, even if this means working non-standard hours when your business is closed.

The on-site coating work completed on this project tidied up the units external appearance and provided a professional-looking finish that the client required.
