Introducing Wethertex, the highly flexible, premium quality protective coating paint for timber and wooden-cladded substrates.
The right systems give our team the tools to deliver your cladding coating, commercial painting or external building repair project with expertise. So we’re proud to introduce the latest system to our trusted portfolio: Wethertex OT25 Wood-Flex Timber Paint.
What is Wethertex?
Wethertex is the latest paint system from building product manufacturers Wetherby Group. They specialise in top-quality, highly-durable paints tested and proven to withstand even the most demanding conditions.
Wethertex is hugely flexible, as it can be applied by brush, roller or spray and has a 12-month shelf life. It is quick-drying, and usually needs a maximum of two coats for optimal application.
At Cladding Coatings, we’re delighted to have been named a Wethertex registered contractor by the manufacturers. This means our specialist skills have been proven to provide a higher quality and more durable finish, and we’re proud to have a paint in our portfolio that offers the utmost care and professional finish for our clients’ wooden cladded properties.
How does Wethertex work?
Wethertex OT25 Wood-Flex Timber Paint is a silicone resin based paint designed specifically for the unique needs and properties of wooden substrates. Wood substrates are typically high-movement, so Wethertex has been created with highly-flexible, microporous properties that prevent the paint from cracking as the building breathes.
Protection against water is also crucial for wooden cladding. As Wethertex is ultra-waterproofing, it protects your wooden cladding against any damp. Optilife silicone technology provides water resistance and breathability. This means no moisture is trapped in the wood, preventing mildew and mould build-up.
As well high-protection, Wethertex also provides a professional and presentable property appearance, with an opaque satin finish for all exterior timber. It boasts excellent colour retention, and is available in a wide range of colours, from classic greys to bright yellows. Read our blog about choosing colours here.
