Location Focus: Cladding Coatings commercial cladding refurbishment projects in England

To celebrate St George’s day, let’s take a look at a few commercial cladding refurbishment projects we have completed throughout England.

Health and Safety - Horizontal lines training 2019

Hadfield House, Droylsden, Greater Manchester

This 6000m2 project is based close to our head office in Manchester and gave the Cladding Coatings team a great opportunity to display our latest safety and coating systems.

To make sure we could access the entire roof safely, we used 3M DBI-SALA, a health & safety system that includes an anchor and cable which can be seen in the image below.

We also used our latest coating system called Advantage, which is a moisture-tolerant and re-coatable system that can be applied in damp conditions and so it was a perfect choice for the guttering.

Coronation Rock, Blackpool

We carried out this project on an industrial estate unit belonging to Coronation Rock in Blackpool.

Before we began any onsite spraying, cladding cleaning and preparation work were needed before we painted the exterior wall cladding which included preparing and painting the corroded brackets on the rear elevation, which had begun to show signs of cut-edge corrosion damage.

We used our trusted Rust-Oleum Noxyde painting system with a 10-year guarantee while carrying out the on-site spraying as it has excellent anti-corrosion and waterproof properties.

As we looked at the finer details of the building, we discovered that gutter cleaning and coating were needed to seal a leaking gutter above the front door to prevent any long term damage concerns.

Metsa Wood, Widnes

This project has been included because it is an excellent example of our expert knowledge of wooden cladding. We want our customers to feel confident that our work will be long lasting and so we used the Wethertex timber paint as it contains many properties to ensure a long-lasting finish for our customers. Wood is susceptible to move in different weather conditions and this paint has high flexibility meaning that the paint won’t crack as the wood moves. The paint we used is also highly protective against water, mould and mildew which is essential for maintaining the building to a high standard.

Synertec Warrington Cladding Coatings Roof Completed

Synertec, Warrington

This commercial cladding refurbishment project was completed using our drone surveys to ensure we had a clear vision of the damage caused to the roof and guttering. This was a key area of concern and so our drone survey allowed us to see damage from angles we may have not been able to see from a regular site survey. After seeing the results of the building, we decided to use Advantage Graphene on the roof as this is specifically developed for targeting corrosion and rust on metal roofs and will give our customers peace of mind that their building will be protected with its 30-year guarantee.

External wall cladding coating was also completed as we noticed from our complimentary on-site survey that there was cladding damage to the rear elevation so we used our trusted Rust-Oleum Noxyde paint system as this contains amazing waterproof properties that would give the building a professional finish whilst also preventing it from further corrosion damage.

Holme Valley MRT, Marsden

This building is the headquarters of a mountain rescue team in Holme Valley. Recoating the roof and gutters was the aim of this project and it was successfully completed to a high standard.

After installing health and safety measures around the building, we started our work on the roof by applying the Rust-Oleum Noxyde paint system to the entire roof. This painting system was used as it contains waterproof, anti-corrosion and rust prevention properties to ensure that the building remained protected from further damage for years to come.

We then took a look into the gutters and noticed we needed to conduct our gutter cleaning service to remove any buildup debris before we could finalise the project by painting the gutters with the same painting system we used for the roof.

We enjoyed working on this project and we were happy that the building gave a strong image of care and protection to reflect the hard work of our client. You can read more about this project here.
