Pinnacle Freight, Leicester
This large scale logistics facility has not only been transformed and refreshed but it has extended its lifespan for over a decade.

Pinnacle Freight, a leading logistics provider based in Leicester, approached Cladding Coatings to undertake a comprehensive refurbishment of their facility. The goal was to enhance the building’s appearance, durability, and safety—ensuring long-term protection and improved operational efficiency. The project encompassed external cladding coatings, detailed painting works, structural repairs, and specialist access installations, all delivered with minimal disruption to Pinnacle’s busy operations.

Before any physical work commenced, Cladding Coatings provided Pinnacle Freight with a detailed digital mock-up of the property to assist in selecting the most suitable colour scheme. This visual simulation allowed the client to explore various colour combinations and finishes in context, ensuring the final choice complemented the building’s architecture and branding. By previewing the transformation digitally, Pinnacle Freight could make confident, informed decisions—streamlining the approval process and aligning expectations ahead of the on-site works.

Onsite Coating Works
A key component of the project was the application of Cladding Coatings’ trusted 15-year warranty system to the external wall cladding. This high-performance solution not only revitalised the building’s façade but also provided long-term weather resistance and aesthetic appeal.
Our team prepared and refinished 70 linear metres of external windows, as well as 11 double window shutters. Office window panels and 50 square metres of masonry under the loading docks were also prepared and painted, ensuring a uniform appearance and improved weather-resistance. The refurbishment extended to ancillary site elements, such as 10 bollards, six loading docks and their associated steelwork, and the security hut fascia detail, all of which were meticulously prepared and painted to ensure both durability and aesthetic value.
Additional painting works focused on safety and visibility: six black and yellow reveal barriers at loading doors were refreshed, alongside the repainting of a prominent yellow wall in the same area, enhancing operational safety and site navigation.

Safety Comes First
To guarantee safe access for all work phases, scaffolding was installed along the roadside elevation, with weekly inspections to maintain safety standards. A 40-metre Roofsafe fall arrest wire system was mounted on six Spira Tech posts, riveted to the steel roofing sheets, providing essential fall restraint and arrest capability at the roof edge and around skylights. Furthermore, a galvanised steel parapet platform was installed, complete with handrails and access ladder, integrated into the existing roof access system. These provisions not only enabled the safe repainting of the wall above the reception roof but also improved future access for maintenance personnel.
Repairs formed a significant part of the project. Damaged door jambs, drip flashings, corner flashings, cladding sheets, and loading bay partitions were carefully removed and replaced with custom-made components. Specifically, the team supplied and fitted 16 new flashings for door jambs, one custom-made corner flashing, 11 new drip flashings, 10 flat plate loading bay partition sheets, and 18 custom-made Plastisol-coated steel cladding sheets, all manufactured to match the original building features. Around the security cabin roof, the existing felt trim was removed and replaced with new felt, restoring integrity and weatherproofing.
Flooring Refurbishment
The flooring works were extensive and required careful scheduling to minimise disruption. Spanning 3–4 weekends and including at least two bank holidays, the team prepared and painted all previously identified locations using a high-performance, medium-traffic, two-pack epoxy paint system. This covered a variety of pathways and functional zones: a 30-metre and a 26-metre footpath, a 6-metre band in the packing area, and a 32-metre loading bay path. Warehouse 1 received a 16m x 4m section with mortar repairs, while a 15-metre path led to warehouse 2, complemented by two box areas at the back wall and a connecting racking path. Site safety was further improved with an 8m² “Don’t park here” cross-line section and clear demarcation for emergency exits and doorways. All paths and zones were marked with detailed stencils to ensure clarity, with provisions for a further site visit to finalise exact locations, colours, layouts, and patterns according to operational requirements.
Finally, the project included the preparation and painting of previously coated steel elements beneath the canopy, as well as all windows and doors of the security hut, ensuring these features were robustly protected and visually consistent with the rest of the facility.
Through careful planning, skilled execution, and a commitment to quality, this comprehensive programme delivered a safer, more durable, and visually enhanced environment, supporting both day-to-day operations and the long-term maintenance needs of the property.
This successful refurbishment at Pinnacle Freight adds another standout project to Cladding Coatings’ expanding portfolio of large-scale logistics facilities. With each project, we reinforce our reputation for quality, reliability, and long-term value—helping logistics businesses protect their assets and present a professional, high-performing environment.
