Ava Knit, Hinckley

A new lease of life was given to this deteriorating metal cladding on this industrial unit. Our teams have refreshed the exterior leaving it protected for years ahead.

When we first arrived on site in Hinckley, our focus was on recoating the external walls of a neighbouring property. It was a routine job for our team—high standards, efficient delivery, and a high quality finish. What we didn’t expect was that our work would catch the attention of Ava Knit, a nearby business with a similar need for cladding refurbishment. They saw the transformation happening next door and reached out to us directly, intrigued by the quality and speed of our work.

A Seamless On-Site Opportunity

Because we were already working in the area, we were able to respond immediately. While our team continued with the neighbouring project, our surveyor visited Ava Knit’s premises to carry out a full site survey. We assessed the condition of their metal cladding, discussed their requirements, and provided a detailed quotation—all while still on site. This kind of responsiveness is something we pride ourselves on. It’s not just about delivering a great finish; it’s about making the process as smooth and efficient as possible for our clients.

Helping the Client Visualise the Transformation

One of the key parts in the preparation for starting this project was the speedy digital mock-up we created for Ava Knit. Choosing a colour scheme for a building’s exterior is no small decision—it affects branding, visibility, and overall aesthetics. To help them make an informed choice, we provided a free digital visualisation of their building in several colour options. This allowed them to see exactly how the recoated cladding would look before committing, giving them confidence in their decision and streamlining the approval process.

Fast-Tracked Planning and Execution

Behind the scenes, our operations team worked quickly to get everything in place. From confirming access requirements to finalising the colour choice and securing client approval, we moved fast. Because we were already on site, we were able to begin work almost immediately after the go-ahead was given. This not only saved time but also reduced disruption for the client—no need for a second mobilisation or extended downtime.

The Recoating Process

The external walls of Ava Knit’s metal cladding were showing signs of wear, with faded colour and minor surface deterioration. Our team carried out a full clean and preparation of the substrate, ensuring optimal adhesion for the new coating. We then applied our specialist cladding coating system, designed to protect against weathering, corrosion, and UV damage while delivering a fresh, professional finish.

The colours chosen by Ava Knit were a modern, sleek style that complemented their branding and surrounding architecture. The transformation was immediate—clean lines, consistent coverage, and a finish that looked as good as new. The client was thrilled with the result, and we were proud to deliver another project that combined speed, quality, and minimal disruption.

Why This Project Stands Out

What made the Ava Knit project particularly rewarding was the organic way it came about. There was no lengthy tender process or back-and-forth negotiations. It was a case of being in the right place at the right time—and having the right reputation. Our work spoke for itself, and the client’s trust in our capabilities was built from what they saw with their own eyes.

It also highlighted the value of our digital mock-up service. Being able to visualise the end result before work begins is a powerful tool, especially for clients who are unsure about colour or finish. It’s a service we offer free of charge, and in this case, it played a key role in helping the client make a confident, informed decision.
