B Conway Group, Oldham
Metal wall cladding and steel columns on this industrial unit we re-coated by our expert team to revitalise this property located in Oldham.

Cladding Coatings have recently completed a transformative refurbishment project for B Conway Group at their Windsor Street premises in Oldham, delivering a high-performance cladding restoration that aligned seamlessly with the client’s operational needs and aesthetic preferences.
Known for their expertise in mechanical handling equipment including; tail lifts, forklifts, and pallet trucks, B Conway Group required a durable, visually cohesive solution that would reflect the professionalism and scale of their business. The project scope focused on the front and right elevations of the building, with a particular emphasis on longevity, brand alignment, and overcoming complex access challenges.

The client selected our Cladding Coatings’ trusted 15-year system, a robust coating solution designed to withstand the rigours of industrial environments while maintaining a pristine finish over time. This long-term protective system was applied to both the front and right-hand elevations, ensuring the building’s façade would remain resilient against weathering, corrosion, and UV degradation. The chosen grey colour was a deliberate aesthetic decision, offering a sleek, modern tone that complemented B Conway’s brand identity and existing architectural features. The shade, provided a clean and professional appearance that elevated the building’s visual impact without overpowering its industrial character.
One of the standout elements of this project was the painting of nine prominent steel columns located on the front elevation. These structural features play a key role in the building’s visual symmetry and support, and their refurbishment required meticulous surface preparation and precision coating. Our onsite painting team ensured that each column was treated with the same high-performance system, delivering uniformity in colour and finish while reinforcing the steel against environmental wear. The result was a cohesive façade that not only looked revitalised but also offered enhanced protection for years to come.

Access posed a significant challenge during the project, particularly on the right-hand side of the building where a low-level structure obstructed direct reach. To overcome this, we deployed large MEWPs (Mobile Elevated Work Platforms), enabling our operatives to safely and effectively reach the upper sections of the elevation without compromising safety or quality. The use of MEWPs was essential in maintaining the integrity of the coating application across all surfaces, especially in areas where traditional scaffolding or ladders would have been impractical. This strategic approach to access ensured that every inch of the specified elevations received the same level of attention and finish, regardless of logistical constraints.
Throughout the project, Cladding Coatings maintained close communication with B Conway Group, ensuring that all works were carried out with minimal disruption to daily operations. Given the nature of B Conway’s business, offering 24/7 national breakdown cover and on-site servicing for mechanical handling equipment, it was critical that the refurbishment did not interfere with service delivery or site safety. Our team worked efficiently and respectfully, coordinating their schedule to align with the client’s operational flow and maintaining a clean, organised site throughout the duration of the works.
The successful completion of this project not only enhanced the visual appeal of B Conway’s Windsor Street facility but also reinforced the company’s commitment to quality and professionalism. The newly coated elevations now serve as a strong first impression for clients and partners visiting the site, reflecting the high standards that B Conway Group upholds in its own services. Moreover, the 15-year system provides peace of mind, knowing that the building’s exterior will remain protected and presentable for well over a decade.

This case study shows our ability to deliver tailored, high-performance solutions in complex industrial settings. From colour selection and surface preparation to overcoming access challenges and coordinating with client operations, every aspect of the project was handled with precision and care. The result is a revitalised façade that not only meets the client’s expectations but also stands as a testament to Cladding Coatings’ expertise in commercial cladding refurbishment.
