Broder Metals Group, Sheffield
Faded and deteriorating metal cladding required re-coating on this industrial unit. We recoated the walls, replaced the gutter and refinished the roller shutter doors.

Our project we completed at Broder Metals Group’s headquarters, in Ecclesfield, Sheffield, was a perfect example of how thoughtful property refurbishment can transform a building’s appearance while enhancing its functionality.
Broder Metals Group, a specialist supplier of high-performance alloys, approached us with a clear brief: refurbish the existing gutter system, recoat the external walls in black, and refresh the roller shutter door in a bold orange. These upgrades were designed not only to improve the building’s weatherproofing but also to align with the company’s branding and create a more striking visual presence.
Before any work began, our team collaborated closely with the client to understand their vision and operational needs. To support the decision-making process, we produced a detailed digital mock-up of the property. This visual representation allowed Broder Metals Group to see how the proposed colour scheme would look in context, helping them make confident, informed choices before committing to the final design. It’s a step we often recommend, especially when colour plays a key role in brand identity and we offer this service free of charge. You can read more about this here.

Once the plan was approved, our teams mobilised with precision. Safety is always our top priority, so we selected appropriate plant and access equipment to carry out the works securely and efficiently. We also carry out the risk assessments and method statements ensuring all health and safety paperwork is in place before starting. The site was active, with regular deliveries and staff movement, so we scheduled our work to minimise disruption and maintain a clean, organised environment throughout.
The external walls were prepared and recoated in a sleek black finish, that was chosen for its modern aesthetic and excellent resistance to UV exposure and moisture. This transformation gave the property a bold, contemporary look that reflects Broder Metals Group’s forward-thinking ethos.
To add a vibrant accent and reinforce brand visibility, the roller shutter door was recoated in a striking orange. This colour choice created a dynamic contrast against the black walls, drawing attention to the main entrance and adding a layer of personality to the building. Our team used high-performance coatings suitable for industrial environments, ensuring durability and a long-lasting finish even with frequent use.
The existing gutter, which had become worn and inefficient over time was refurbished and using the original steel brackets, we installed a new steel gutter designed to integrate seamlessly with the building’s structure. The new system was configured to discharge into the existing rainwater downpipes, preserving the drainage layout while significantly improving performance and longevity.
Throughout the project, communication was key. Our teams worked closely with Broder Metals Group to ensure every stage was clearly documented and quality-checked. We provided regular updates, responded promptly to feedback, and remained flexible to accommodate the client’s schedule and operational requirements.

The result is a building that not only performs better but looks dramatically improved. The refurbished guttering system offers reliable water management, protecting the structure from potential damage. The black wall coating adds a professional edge, while the orange roller shutter door injects energy and brand presence. Together, these upgrades have revitalised XMP House, creating a façade that reflects the strength and precision of the business within.
This project is a testament to what can be achieved when technical expertise meets creative vision. From digital mock-up to final coat, our team delivered a solution that was tailored, timely, and transformative.
