A growing team learning new skills: Welcoming our new apprentice

Hard-working and keen-to-learn apprentice Robert is the latest addition to the Cladding Coatings team, joining us after recognising the opportunity to gain new skills for long-term industry success.

Our strong Cladding Coatings team is fundamental to everything we do. Not only does it drive our great communication, work ethic and desire to succeed, it means that you, our valued clients, can rely on a skilled, knowledgeable and hard-working team coming together to deliver the best results for your cladding restoration project.

As such, we’re only looking for the best to join our team. That’s why we’re proud to have taken on our latest apprentice, Robert Walker.

The opportunity to learn new skills

25 year old Rob responded to our painter and decorator apprenticeship vacancy this September. He’d originally worked in security and journalism, but on application to Cladding Coatings Rob told us he wanted to learn a trade that could form part of his future.

He saw the appeal of working with Cladding Coatings, with the varied nature of the work, clients and locations giving him great long-term opportunities to learn on the job from a company with multiple years’ cladding restoration experience.

Rob’s already enjoying his time with us, and benefitting from learning plenty of new external building repair and refurbishment skills.

His knowledge to date includes identifying and treating cut-edge corrosion on metal cladded roofs and walls, finding out about two pack paints and our industry-leading systems, and he can already work a generator!

Experience gained through on-site projects

Despite the early stages of his role with us, Rob’s already demonstrated the enthusiasm and commitment we value in our Cladding Coatings team through his work on sites. Rob’s already been shown the ropes at a roof coating project on Sherbourne roof, and worked on sites in Sharpness and Andover.

Today, you’ll find Rob with the team in Prescott at one of Ford’s Gloucestershire sites. It’s a great opportunity for Robert to gain experience of car showroom cladding restoration, which is an increasingly popular area of expertise for our team. We’re making our customers’ properties safe and secure facilities to store high value cars, as well as providing an up-market, appealing finish to help welcome customers looking to make significant spends. When Rob’s not at work, he enjoys watching boxing, running and socialising: the perfect combination for an active, friendly and supportive team like the Cladding Coatings family!
