Arthur Spriggs & Sons, Tewkesbury
Cladding Coatings is delighted to have recently completed a project for new client Arthur Spriggs & Sons Ltd based in Tewkesbury. Arthur Spriggs & Sons Ltd has been established since 1918 and provides their services to both local and national companies. Arthur Spriggs & Sons services are comprehensive in their field of haulage and distribution and include commercial vehicle services & repairs, Mercedes and Isuzu parts & servicing, transport services, supply chain solutions, palletised services, warehousing and news.
They provide an outstanding service partly due to their commitment to the design, development and delivery of quality services while managing the potential harmful effects on their surroundings.
Arthur Spriggs made contact with the Cladding Coatings’ customer services team to enquire about our cladding services. Following a discussion on the telephone, we booked a site survey for one of our Assessors to meet with them at the location in question to assess the site and advise them on the work that needed to be completed.
On arriving at the site in Tewkesbury, we found that Arthur Spriggs is a partner of Mercedes and this particular site was also a Mercedes Garage. From our inspection of the building, we found the cladding to be very tired, dated and had a mismatch of colours. Over time, the premises had refurbishment work completed which meant there was new cladding adjacent to old cladding, which appeared unsightly as it hadn’t been matched very well at all. We agreed with Arthur Spriggs’ Facilities Manager that this wasn’t portraying the professional image a customer would expect from a Mercedes Garage.
Following the survey, we prepared a quotation and specification for the customer to which, they found satisfactory and as a result, we agreed on a start date for the project to commence. Before the project started, we agreed on risk assessments and method statements with the Contract Manager at Arthur Spriggs.
The project included an initial clean, so our team pressure washed the exterior cladding and gutters. We then removed any sealant on the cladding that looked untidy or needed replacing. We then sprayed all the cladding with Dacrylate SB RAL 9006, a product which was carefully chosen from our supplier, Kenyons Paint. Dacrylate is a thin oil based paint with properties enabling it to dry extremely quickly. The paint is available in a range of colours which was perfect for our client as they were able to choose a colour matching their company brand.
For the guttering we used Dulux Metal Shield to coat all the gutters with, our team were able to apply this coating by brush and roller to give a neat and professional finish.
Once nearing completion we invited the Arthur Spriggs’ team to review our work, we discussed and rectified a couple of areas where additional coating work was required, and the customer was pleased with the finished result.
