Cladding Coatings have completed an external wall cladding coating refurbishment on the world class, UK factory for Bandvulc based in Devon.

Bandvulc are a leading commercial retailer for truck, LGV and commercial vehicle tyres. They offer personalised tyre and call management solutions for commercial logistic operations from their facility in Ivybridge.

Truck tyres are manufactured at the UK site where they produce a tyre every 3 minutes. The tyres use bespoke compounds developed in-house for the sole use of their retreading operation, having more than 100 different patterns and sizes including specialist applications.

As their facility is so important to the business image and future growth strategy it had to look as good on the outside as it performed on the inside. It also needed to reflect their brand image and use the right colours to complement their logo.

Initially the building was a mix of faded green, blue and brown colours which appeared old and unappealing. Fading on metal wall cladding is a sign of deterioration that requires attention before the aging process affects the metal sheets too badly which may involve a costly repair later down the line.

At the enquiry and quotation stage we provided a digital mock up of their building which helped them to select a colour scheme and play with ideas. We were also able to make some recommendations and suggest the best systems for the project.

Once agreed and preparations put in place we were able to start work on site. One of our expert teams commenced with the site preparation and cleaning process which is an important part of any refurbishment work. Good preparation produces the highest quality finishes.

The walls were then coated using specialist spraying equipment and high performance coatings. Due to site operations our team was very careful and worked around everyone on site to keep any disruption to a minimum. Our use of dryfall paint systems are especially designed to avoid any overspray or damage to the surrounding areas.

Once the onsite spraying work was completed to the external metal wall cladding, the signage was put back in place and the finished results looked amazing. The new coating freshened up the dated exterior and left it looking modern and stylish. The colour scheme allowed for the logo to stand out and overall it looked like a brand new factory.
