Industrial Unit Blyth

The refurbishment of this empty unit in the North East, was carried out for one of our long standing customers, who as a landlord wanted to both maintain the property and rent it out quickly.

Long-standing valued client Whittle Jones let industrial and office units across the UK. For many years, they’ve entrusted our team here at Cladding Coatings with preparing their units for the rental market. Knowing a presentable unit attracts the right tenants, and placing priority on a secure well protected property for their safety, we were delighted to be asked to refurbish a Whittle Jones industrial unit in the North of England.

Ryan, Mick and Mark spent three weeks in May 2019 at an industrial unit in Blyth, Northumberland owned by Whittle Jones that they were seeking to let. After thorough assessment to our client’s satisfaction, we installed an access tower, perimeter handrail and safety netting for safe and secure work to begin.

Work fitting to the climate

Blyth is a north-east coastal town situated on a river. Therefore, units in the area feel the impact of cold climates and levels of high salinity, meaning they are prone to increased debris and need to be treated with care.

As such, to begin we treated the property’s cut-edge corrosion. We tackled the metal cladded areas of the roof that had begun to deteriorate and peel back, addressing the problem before water began to enter the property. We installed our trusted 10-year Noxyde system to the entire roof, a protective paint unrivalled for its anti-corrosion properties.

Preparation for rental

With an extensive portfolio and household name status, Whittle Jones have duly earned a strong reputation to uphold. To support that, they know that every unit they let needs to meet their professional standards. Therefore, a clear and polished facade is essential to attract the right tenants, and promptly.

With industrial units like this one offering a range of options for the potential tenant, including storage and warehousing, each operating element must both look and perform optimally. We installed our Alkathane 7500 system to all trims, fasicas, gutters and loading doors. Not only did this provide a professional and consistent finish, it allowed us to ensure each essential component was not hindered by facade damage. For a polished finish, we installed our 10-year Noxyde system to the wall of the unit.

To help increase rentability, a presentable and attractive facade is essential. If your industrial unit is looking tired and in need of repair and refurbishment before re-let, contact our team.

We’ve proudly built a strong reputation with country-wide, repeat clients, including Whittle Jones. See what they have to say about our team and our work here.
