Squab Storage, Bridgwater
Squab Bridgwater, a leader in the self-storage industry, recently undertook an extensive modernisation and rebranding project at their Crossways Road facility in Bridgwater. Recognised for adherence to the stringent quality standard BS EN 15696, Squab Bridgwater aimed to advance the level of service and security that is synonymous with their brand.
With a strategic location offering easy access to both commercial and domestic customers, the investment in renovations promised revamped storage solutions, encompassing a variety of unit sizes and flexible contracts all at competitive prices.
Part of a transitory phase from former management under Britannia Lanes of Somerset and Bristol, this project was not only a transformation in physical infrastructure but also a shift towards reinvigorating the facility’s brand image.
Digital Visualisation
To visualise this ambitious makeover, digital depictions of the proposed building exterior were created. This allowed for meticulous planning to ensure that the design and colour scheme resonated with the brand’s ethos and appeal. As part of our complimentary service, our teams created the digital mock ups from photographs of the existing building and used existing plans to create the colour scheme.
Preparation
The renovation entailed substantial preparation work due to the significant levels of accumulated dirt. Our teams jet washed the cladding and roof panels thoroughly to remove the dirt, grime and loose paint. The effort set the foundation for an effective rebranding pursuit manifesting in a pristine, secure and up-to-date establishment.
Roof Coating
The work on this project included re-coatings the roof which required the installation of scaffold access towers and a safety netting system. Enhancements progressed with the treatment of corrosion and thorough cleaning of the roof surfaces. Moreover, a new RoofSafe system was installed, taking a significant step towards fortified safety measures for future upkeep. The RoofSafe systems comprises of roof anchors and a line that is attached by a harness to ensure roof workers are kept safe.
Repair Work
Major repair was conducted with over-cladding and replacement of rooflights, promoting energy efficiency and interior lighting quality. Two large canopies were removed to streamline the design, coupled with the cladding of several windows, harmonising the facility’s architecture.
A crucial segment involved replacing the gutter system and roller shutter door flashings, further protecting against climatic wear.
Wall Cladding Coating
To finalise the structure’s external aesthetics, the wall cladding was recoated using a 15-year Rustoleum Noxyde system, promising longevity and enhanced appearance. The painting of windows, shutter doors, and personal doors was carried out to align with the fresh branding.
All remnants of old logos were removed, paving the way for new signage that would communicate the evolution of Squab Bridgwater’s identity.
The culmination of the project, witnessed the rejuvenation of the Squab Bridgwater storage facility. The building emerged with a renewed facade that radiated novelty and cleanliness, aligned seamlessly with the new branding. The facility’s transformation was not merely cosmetic; it incorporated structural integrity and heightened security that echoed the brand’s commitment to quality storage solutions.
The metamorphosis fostered an environment that customers could trust, with a visually appealing and functional space that welcomed them back with open arms. This redevelopment stands as a testament to Squab Bridgwater’s asset fortitude and profound understanding of customer needs, setting a benchmark for industry standards.
Through strategic restoration and dedicated effort by our team, Squab Bridgwater has delineated a narrative of modernisation, brand reinvigoration, and unyielding dedication to service excellence.
