In 2022, the Cladding Coatings team began working on a large unit, building refurbishment project in Gainsborough, taking on wall coating, roof coating, cut edge corrosion repair, gutter refurbishment, and window and door painting for Storage Team. Previously known as Smiffys, this unit was taken on by Storage Team to use as a storage facility, our work forms part of the company’s fresh and polished brand image.

Roof coating with Giromax®️

Prior to our team beginning work on site, you can see from the images that the exterior of the building was looking tired and a little dated. So the first stage of the process on site began by addressing some of the walls, and the roof.

For the roof coating, we used Giromax®️. Giromax®️’s product range is specifically designed to tackle cut edge corrosion, which was evident on Storage Team’s roof. The metal edging of the sheets had begun to peel back, meaning the roof sheeting was no longer watertight. To fix this issue, we installed Giromax®️ Roofcoat: an industry-leading system, which we applied with just a single coat to reduce costs, without compromising quality, for ultimate corrosion resistance and weatherproofing.

On the roof we installed a mansafe system. This provided us with efficient access to all areas of the roof to work safely at height, securely protecting both our team and others around the site. It is also a cost effective method that allowed us to work competitively.

We provided a quote for the solar panel installation, which has since been installed to the roof area. We also applied the WeatherFAST system to the gutters, WeatherFOLD. We’re approved installers of this hard metal liner that’s specifically designed to significantly reduce roof damage, which added peace of mind for Storage Team as part of their extensive refurbishment scheme.

Wall coating with Rustoleum Noxyde

For the wall coating, we turned to our tried, tested and trusted system, Rustoleum Noxyde. This water-based paint provides exceptional corrosion protection with precise paint coverage – delivering paint consistency and performance confidence for our client. Its application is also accompanied by a ten-year guarantee to maximise investment, longevity and peace of mind.

The next step was to paint the windows and doors across the facility, and to the front of the unit new panels were installed by our team.

Seamless Cladding

We were called back to work on phase two which involved further wall coating work, window painting and wall cladding, panel installation to the front entrance of the building. Our team were able to integrate new cladding panels into the facade to create a seamless finish to the main entrance. The results were stunning.

Sometimes panel replacement is the only option where repair and re-coating will not provide the desired look. This can be due to severe deterioration, damage or structural concerns. In this case the new panels were installed to encase the brickwork and overclad to create a reception entrance that matched the rest of the building and brought the external cladding together.
