Team Training as Part of Our Health and Safety Commitment

Health and safety is always at the forefront of our minds at Cladding Coatings, and we ensure that all our team receive suitable training to enable them to work safely, not only keeping themselves safe but those around them whilst working on sites.

It is important to conduct regular safety training so that knowledge is refreshed and latest updates and changes in regulations can be understood. Also due to innovation and developments in technology and equipment it is crucial that our personnel know how to use the latest equipment safely.

Recently Shaun and Jake completed their IPAF Spider (Static Boom) course.

This course covers the safe use of Static Booms. Static Boom is an overall category name which includes Spider booms on tracks or wheels, Van-mounted booms, Truck-mounted booms or Trailer-mounted booms.

Completing the course has provided them both with the skills and knowledge to be able to safely and effectively use an access platform which they need to re-coat cladding and access roofs.

The course covered health and safety regulations and guidance, risk assessments, PPE, accidents and risks, equipment introductions, safe use, checks and reporting, full practical training and theory.

They now have a thorough understanding of health and safety law as it applies to them and personal responsibility, can operate equipment safely, efficiently and in a professional way.

This course covers the use of powered access, including scissor lifts, self-propelled boom lifts, cherry pickers, trailer mounted boom lifts and aerial work platforms.

A mixture of theory and practical, the course covers mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs) and their structural parts, applicable regulations, inspections and safe operating procedures.

Other recent training included a First Aid at Work course for Shaun. He was able develop his first aid skills and confidence to help someone who maybe ill, has had an accident or suffered an injury. He can carry out first aid unit help is available which can include assessing the casualty, monitoring them and getting appropriate help. The course also covers accident recording and reporting and the control of substances hazardous to health (COSHH).

These skills are valuable when working on site and can save someone’s life.

All our team are professionally trained in Health and Safety and this is kept up to date at all times to ensure working safely and managing risk is imposed on every project we work on.

The systems and training we invest in are recognised by those who regulate the buildings and construction industry. We’re therefore delighted to give our customers peace of mind with the knowledge that Cladding Coatings are approved as safe workers you can completely trust on your site.

Our accreditation list includes International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) accreditation for safe and effective use of powered access equipment and Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS) approval based on an assessment of our specific health and safety arrangements.

Our team also have Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) cards. CSCS cards provide proof that individuals working on construction sites have the appropriate training and qualifications for the job they do on site. By ensuring the workforce are appropriately qualified the card plays its part in improving standards and safety on UK construction sites.
