This Car Supermarket site required external wall cladding coating to refresh and update its tired-looking exterior.

Cladding Coatings have worked with Car Supermarket to refurbish and rebrand multiple car showroom sites across the country. They contacted us to look at their large site in Scunthorpe to see how we could help them update and rebrand their tired-looking showroom.

Having already developed a good client relationship with Car Supermarket, we were delighted to be asked to refurbish their site in Scunthorpe.

Situated in a busy industrial area on a main road, it was important that this site in Scunthorpe looked good and would uphold the company’s reputation.

Free on-site survey & Digital Mock-Up

As with any project, we conducted a free on-site survey for our client to establish exactly what condition the building was in and what work would be required to make their car showroom look brand new.

We also created a free digital mock-up for our client so they could see what their building could look like in a particular colour scheme before the work on-site had even begun.

It was evident that the external wall and roof cladding showed some signs of deterioration that would need addressing. It was also clear that the existing cladding would need thorough cleaning and prepping ready for on-site spraying.

Working in an environment with many valuable cars and stock, we must carefully plan the work required. This is to ensure minimal disruption is caused on-site, and there is no damage to any of the valuable cars that Car Supermarket have at their site.

Therefore, we worked closely with the client to ensure a plan was put in place to protect both valuable stock and customers visiting the site. The work schedule that was agreed upon meant that there was minimal disruption on-site to our clients and their daily business operations.

External wall and roof cladding coating

The overall external wall and roof metal cladding on this car showroom showed signs of wear and deterioration, and years’ worth of dirt and build-up was evident on the light-coloured cladding coating.

Car Supermarket wanted to update the existing façade on this showroom to match their other newly refurbished sites across the country. The light-coloured external wall cladding needed updating and recoating in Car Supermarket’s brand colours.

The large roof area was in need of refurbishment and this was also cleaned, repaired and re-coated to complete the project.

Before we got to work recoating the roof and external wall cladding, we first had to clean the build-up of dirt and debris that had accumulated on its surface over several years. Thoroughly cleaning and prepping the cladding ensures the coating system will correctly and smoothly adhere to the cladding surface.

Once all surfaces were thoroughly cleaned and prepped, the cladding coatings team could get to work with the on-site spraying of the external walls and roof. Multiple elevations required recoating across the large showroom, and we elected to use our on-site spraying method as it is a fast and efficient process that gives excellent coverage.

The external wall and roof cladding was coated in a high-performance system that provides excellent corrosion protection and is highly durable.
