Onsite spraying was carried out to a number of units in Liverpool during 2017. St Modwen, landlords for the Stonebridge East (formerly Gilmoss) industrial estate, contacted Cladding Coatings as they wanted their recently vacated unit freshening up.

There were some newly built units adjacent to this vacant building, so it was imperative that we colour matched the unit to ensure it followed suit with the rest of the modernised industrial estate.

Stonebridge East is a modern industrial estate located in Liverpool that has undergone extensive refurbishment to offer high-quality industrial units to let within the city. Stonebridge East industrial estate is home to various businesses from mechanical engineering and rental companies to construction firms and wholesalers.

Once a tenant decides to vacate a premises, it is the perfect time for landlords to call us in for refurbishment works to be carried out. However, we also have extensive experience in carrying out refurbishment work to occupied buildings. Cladding Coatings pride ourselves on our customer service and flexibility and are highly experienced in working with and around our clients to ensure our work causes minimum disruption to the business.

The first stage of the refurbishment was to clean the existing cladding to prepare it for the coating to ensure an even finish. We used a fungicidal wash to remove the dirt build up and allowed the solution to soak in. We then washed the fungicidal wash off with a high-pressure wash, fully removing any dirt that could affect the coating.

Next, we applied a primer to the cladding which allows a smooth and even coverage for the base coat. Once the primer had set and was ready to be painted on, we applied the base coat; a Noxyde system in the specific colour chosen by our clients to match the adjacent units as outlined in the initial brief.

Once the base coat had dried, we then sprayed on a topcoat which is another Noxyde system. As a result, the industrial unit was left matching adjacent units, protected and modernised.

While working on this project, due to the busy nature of the popular industrial estate, it was key that we were mindful of members of the public and workers within the industrial estate. We are proud of the cladding refurbishment project we carried out for St Modwen, and the client was pleased with the result. The newly refurbished unit now matches the adjacent, new buildings and is ready to be let out to new tenants.
