Our teams have completed a project in Killarney, Ireland for Tricel. Tricel is a global provider of high-performance solutions for the water, distribution, construction and environmental industries.

Following the refurbishment of two buildings at their site in Gloucester that our teams completed in 2020, the company called back Cladding Coatings to complete some further work at their site in Ireland.

We carried out a digital mock up of the property for the client initially to help them make a decision on colour and the work to be completed. We also carried out a site visit where we were able to meet with the client and inspect the condition of the cladding and take measurements of the elevations. Our surveyor also assessed the access requirements with our access providers to ensure that everything would be prepared to start work on site.

Working Away

For our teams this was an unusual project as it was located over the sea in Ireland. This wasn’t any barrier as we were still able to deploy a skilled team to the site and complete the works as usual. We were still able to carry out a site visit in advance of work starting and our teams thoroughly enjoyed working on this project in Killarney. We look forward to working on more projects like this in the future.

Preparing the façade for cladding coating

The property needed our expert attention, and expert preparation for cladding coating was crucial. We began with cladding cleaning by applying a fungicidal wash to the elevations that were to be coated and we used a high-pressure wash system to remove loose and flaking paint to reveal a clean finish. Preparation is important in the application of paint systems to ensure a high-quality finish and the longevity of the coating.

Trusted systems for optimal protection

Work on this project included installing our tried and tested Rust-Oleum Noxyde® commercial painting system to 3 elevations. Rust-Oleum Noxyde® is ideal for an onsite spraying application, and boasts impressive waterproofing and corrosion-resistant properties, making it perfect for a high-performance product manufacturer like Tricel.

Personnel Doors and loading doors were also refurbished along with several windows, a canopy and the facias and gutters on this building. These were painted by our experienced teams and Tricel benefitted from our experience and expertise installing the system efficiently.

Damage repaired and replaced

Our teams carried out cut edge repair work to several areas, which involved preparing the areas and then applying a treatment to prevent further corrosion spreading. Once treated the areas are coated to match the surrounding surfaces. Some of the wall panels to the lower areas required repair work to be carried out and there were some areas that were so badly damaged they were in need of replacement sheets. All repair and replacement works were completed professionally and carefully to ensure minimum disruption on site and to leave a unified finish.
