Identify, and fix, smaller building issues before they become big problems
It’s easy to look at a facade and not see any cause for concern. All paintwork looks intact. There’s no sign of rust. And you can’t see a corroded roof edge. There’s no need to worry, right?
Sadly, that’s not quite the case. It’s great that your building’s not showing easily visible signs of wear. Yet, all too often, this doesn’t mean there are no issues. To the untrained eye, it can be difficult to spot the first signs of peeling and cracking paintwork. And without specialist equipment to access the roof, the old adage ‘out of sight, out of mind’ may apply to the problems lurking at height.
It can be hard to identify the small issues that can be the start of a big problem. Fortunately, at Cladding Coatings, our expert eyes can promptly identify causes for concern and know just how to fix them. In addition to regular maintenance updates, common problems we initially spot, which you can keep an eye out for too, include:
Cladding breakdown
Cladding is subjected to the elements, harsh weather conditions, foliage, and even vehicle and human damage. Your full facade may not need a respray today. However, we can repair the specific areas of cladding that have begun to deteriorate. This is a cost-effective way to maintain appearance, safety, and stop the (inevitable) spread of damage.
Gutter damage
The guttering on your property has a crucial job. It catches water and diverts it from your building, protecting it from water damage. At first sight, your guttering may look intact and appear to be doing its job well. Yet a closer inspection may reveal trapped foliage, cracks and gaps, leading to blockages, cracks and damp problems. With gutter cleaning and repair using specialist machinery and professional treatment solutions, you can prevent a small issue becoming a huge problem.
Cut-edge corrosion
When the cut-edging of metal sheeting is exposed to the elements, it begins to peel back and deteriorate. Left untreated, it looks unsightly but, more troublingly, causes weaknesses in the structure and exposes the inside of your property to the outside elements. At Cladding Coatings, we know just what we’re looking for to spot problematic corroded edges from the first signs of wear. We can treat and repair individual areas of corrosion, preventing the spread of damage.
Finding and fixing the more minor repair issues quickly reduces the risk of larger problems that can be disruptive, expensive and troubling to rectify the longer you leave them unattended. With professional refurbishment and repair, you’ll stop the problem in its tracks before it spreads.
At Cladding Coatings we offer our initial site surveys with no obligation, entirely free of charge. We also offer drone site surveys to access all areas of your property and assess the full picture of its condition. Don’t forget that booking in a site survey before the end of February 2020 includes a drone survey, and digital mock-up, free of charge. These services are usually chargeable, so act fast to snap up one of our limited remaining slots.
Ask our team to come and assess your property for damage, and advise you if, and when, work is needed to stop a small problem becoming a bigger issue.
