2019 has seen our team here at Cladding Coatings win new clients, expand our portfolio and take on new projects. We’ve travelled the length and breadth of the UK visiting properties in a poor state of repair and in need of our refurbishment and re-coating services.
We’ve marked our 12th year in business with new systems, new technologies and new team members. Our 2019 portfolio includes restaurants, warehouse and even an army barracks!
It’s hard to choose just one success that matters the most to us from 2019. So we’ll share more about three key projects for us this year, which have taken place in Kent, Leeds, and our home region of Greater Manchester.
A vast recoating project in Kent
In the summer, we spent a number of weeks on site in Ashford in Kent working with Keel Toys. The Keel Toys property was one of the largest our team have tackled to date, with the full 115,000sq ft warehouse in need of refurbishment. Keel Toys design, import and export soft toys across the UK and Mainland Europe, serving a blue-chip client base for more than 70 years. We needed to work efficiently to ensure as little disruption as possible to the large scale operation while we were on site.
To make sure the colours were just right for the client, we produced a digital mock-up of the building before work began. This visualisation service is offered free of charge with all our projects, and allowed Keel Toys to test colour options and make sure the scheme they’d chosen was right for them. Once they were happy, we began refurbishing and recoating all the walls, windows and shutter doors in light grey 7001 and anthracite.

Creating a consistent look in Leeds
Ring are automotive specialists based in Leeds. They acquired a new property thanks to the expansion of their business. However, they needed the new building exterior to match their existing property, which, in turn, needed refurbishing to meet their professional high standards.
Our team transformed the exterior of a run-down 3000m2 warehouse. The warehouse had brick wall and a metal roof, so this work involved respraying sections of the roof and walls to result in a professional, clean and presentable finish. Ring also have highly recognisable branding. With our unique colour-matching service and trusted Noxyde from Rust-Oleum paint system, we were able to deliver exactly what the client was looking for.

Safe and efficient roof refurbishment in Manchester
Hadfield House in Droylsden, Greater Manchester, needed extensive work earlier this year. The site has two large main units, each composed of separate blocks, and our Cladding Coatings team need to recoat and refurbish roofs, walls and doors, as well as multiple windows (including large office-front windows) across the different buildings.
To achieve this, we used our latest health and safety system: the 3M™ DBI-SALA® RoofSafe Anchor and Cable System. Spanning up to 15m between anchors, the system provides continuous hands-free access for our trained team. Not only does this keep our team safe working at height, it also reduces the time they must spend on a roof to deliver an exceptional finish.
The project was also a great opportunity for us to showcase one of the latest coating systems added to our portfolio this year: Advantage. This moisture-tolerant, recoatable system is single-coat application, flexible and can be applied in heavy rainfall.

As 2019 has proven, at Cladding Coatings we’re no strangers to unique projects, and we welcome a challenge. As these projects, and the rest of our work to date shows, we pride ourselves on an exceptional finish and a portfolio of impressed clients.
