A client, a property developer, was re-developing a building and the roof had seen significant damage and deterioration due to the weather and in particular water damage.
When our Surveyor met the client we discussed their requirements and provided a specification which would meet their requirements to provide a cost effective, long term solution to prevent roof deterioration and also increase the U-values of the building in line with current building regulations.
The specification designed by Cladding Coatings was to install the Elastaseal Warm Roof System which is ideal for roofs that are subject to problems associated with waterproofing flat and pitched roofs. The system provides up to 25 years protection before a maintenance check is required, helping the client keep spend budgets to a minimum.
The Cladding Coatings Engineering team prepared the roof area and applied the system, it is a cold liquid, which means the health & safety concerns of hot works can be avoided, which was a real benefit to the client as the building is situated in a busy pedestrian area.
The Engineering team also improved the insulation layer of the building, which will ensure the system provides a warm roof which improves the buildings carbon emissions and thermal efficiency meeting building regulations (Part L).
