BL Flooring Ltd, based at Centurion Industrial Centre, Gloucester is a long‑standing client with whom Cladding Coatings has built a strong and trusted relationship. Several years ago, the company commissioned us to refurbish and recoat the cladding on their primary unit, a project that successfully transformed the building’s exterior and provided long‑term protection against weathering and deterioration. As BL Flooring has continued to grow, they have recently expanded into an adjacent unit within the same industrial centre. This development created a new requirement, to refurbish and recoat the newly acquired elevation while ensuring it matched seamlessly with the previously completed building. The client also requested a robust, long‑life warranty system to safeguard their investment and maintain a cohesive, professional appearance across both units.


The new project involved installing a full 15‑year cladding coatings warranty system to two front elevations of the expanded premises. The scope included preparation and coating of approximately twenty‑five linear metres of windows and two double personnel doors, all of which required careful attention to detail to ensure uniformity with the existing refurbished façade. Because we had already completed work on the original unit, our team began by thoroughly cleaning the previously coated cladding. This step was essential not only for aesthetic consistency but also to maintain the integrity and longevity of the earlier refurbishment. Industrial environments can expose cladding to dirt, pollutants, and general wear, so restoring the original surfaces ensured both units would present a cohesive and well‑maintained exterior.
Once the existing cladding was cleaned and refreshed, we turned our focus to the adjacent unit. The elevations were assessed for substrate condition, previous coatings, and any areas requiring repair. As with all warranty‑backed systems, preparation was critical. The surfaces were cleaned, degreased, and treated to ensure optimal adhesion of the new coating system. Any minor defects were addressed to create a smooth, stable base for the application of the 15‑year protective system.
The coating process itself was carried out using high‑performance cladding coatings designed specifically for industrial environments. These systems provide exceptional resistance to UV exposure, corrosion, and weathering, ensuring the building maintains its appearance and structural protection over the long term. Colour matching was a key part of the project. BL Flooring required the new unit to align visually with the previously refurbished elevation, creating a unified brand presence across their expanded premises. Our team carefully matched the coating colour and finish, ensuring that once complete, both units appeared as a single, cohesive facility.

The windows and personnel doors required detailed preparation and coating to achieve the same high standard. With twenty‑five linear metres of window frames and two double personnel doors included in the scope, precision was essential. These elements often experience more frequent contact, movement, and wear than static cladding panels, so the coating system needed to be both durable and visually consistent. Each frame and door was cleaned, masked, and coated with the same warranty‑approved system, resulting in a flawless finish that complemented the surrounding elevations.
