Champion Mouldings, Radcliffe – Internal Painting
We restored a heavily used warehouse unit through detailed liner panel repairs and a full internal repaint, resulting in a brighter, cleaner, and more resilient working environment for their operations.

Champion Mouldings, a manufacturer based in Radcliffe, has been steadily investing in the improvement of their facilities to support continued growth and operational efficiency. Having previously completed external cladding refurbishment for the business, Cladding Coatings were invited back to undertake a more extensive programme of works across several units on the site. This phase focused particularly on one warehouse where internal surfaces had suffered from years of wear, impact damage, and general ageing. The client required a solution that would restore the space to a clean, bright, and professional standard while ensuring long‑term durability suitable for a busy industrial environment.
From the outset, it was clear that the unit needed more than a simple repaint. The internal liner panels had sustained damage in several areas, the ceiling boards and exposed steels were discoloured, and the warehouse walls, including breeze block sections and loading bay entrances were showing signs of heavy use. In addition, the external faces of the canteen, locker areas, and label locations required attention to bring consistency to the wider site. Champion Mouldings also asked us to carry out internal painting and external refurbishment to other units, ensuring the entire facility benefitted from a cohesive, refreshed appearance.

One of the most technically detailed aspects of the project involved the replacement of damaged wall liner panels. These panels form an important part of the building’s internal envelope, and repairing them correctly is essential for both appearance and structural integrity. Our team began by carefully removing the damaged sections, taking care to protect the surrounding surfaces and maintain the integrity of the existing support system. The ‘T’ grid framework behind the panels had been distorted in places, so this was straightened and refixed to create a stable base for the new materials. We then supplied and installed new plasterboard, cut precisely to suit the steel grid system, ensuring a seamless fit. Where additional support was required, new galvanised steel trims were fitted to hold the plasterboard securely in place. This meticulous process restored the internal wall structure and prepared the surfaces for the next stage of refurbishment.
With the repairs complete, attention turned to the full internal repainting programme. The aim was to transform the warehouse into a brighter, cleaner, and more functional environment. All ceiling boards, exposed steels, and sprinkler systems were prepared and coated, giving the overhead structure a uniform and refreshed appearance. The warehouse walls were then treated, including the newly repaired liner panels, the breeze block sections, and the loading entrance areas. Even the external surfaces of the canteen and locker areas were incorporated into the programme, ensuring that every part of the unit benefitted from the same high standard of finish.

To deliver a durable and long‑lasting result, we used the Zinsser AllCoat Commercial water‑based system. This coating is known for its excellent adhesion, flexibility, and resistance to cracking or peeling, qualities that are essential in a high‑traffic industrial setting. A two‑coat application was used on the internal liner panels, creating a strong, protective surface that will withstand the demands of daily operations. The result was a consistent, professional finish that significantly improved the appearance and functionality of the space.
Alongside the main warehouse refurbishment, our team also completed additional works across other units on the site. These included external cladding improvements and internal painting to refresh tired surfaces and maintain a consistent standard across the facility. By coordinating these works alongside the main project, we helped Champion Mouldings achieve a unified, well‑maintained appearance throughout their premises.

As with all industrial refurbishment projects, careful planning was essential to minimise disruption. We worked closely with the client to schedule works around operational requirements, ensuring safe access for staff and maintaining clear working zones. Dust control, surface protection, and safe working practices were prioritised throughout, allowing the business to continue operating while the refurbishment progressed.
The transformation achieved through this project has made a noticeable difference to the working environment at Champion Mouldings. The repaired liner panels have restored the structural integrity of the internal walls, while the fresh coatings have brightened the space and improved visibility.
taff now benefit from a cleaner, more professional environment, and the business has a facility that better reflects the quality of its operations. With durable coatings and strengthened internal structures, the refurbished units are well‑equipped to support the company’s ongoing production needs.
