DHL, Bardon Hill
Big brands need their facilities to deliver on every level. From a safe, secure structure that performs inside and out to a smart, presentable appearance that holds up the business’ strong reputation, external building refurbishment is essential.
Global market leader in the logistics industry, DHL, know this all too well, which is why we’re delighted they instructed our team here at Cladding Coatings to deliver an extensive building repair and refurbishment project at their Bardon Hill unit throughout the summer of 2020.
Cladding recoating for façade revival
The DHL unit at Bardon Hill was looking worn. The light-grey façade had faded in sunlight, faced a battering from wind and rain, and had accumulated dirt and debris. The DHL logo had also begun to show signs of wear and wasn’t showcasing the instant, bold yellow colour that’s synonymous with the brand.
The challenge was the size of the building. The external façade that require cladding recoating measured 7000m²: a vast area that needed to be tackled carefully. We needed to find the balance between completing the work in a timely manner whilst also being consistent and precise, and approaching the work safely.
Property repainting for complete protection
When your building looks faded and tired, chances are it’s not just the aesthetics that are damaged. Signs of wear found in the property’s cladding are common, and issues such as cut edge corrosion can cause the metal cladding to peel back, exposing the inside of your building to the elements.
For a logistics company, like DHL, protecting parcels and customer property is imperative. Cladding repair, therefore, is vital to ensure the building’s content are thoroughly secured, so our team began work by fully assessing damage and repairing any necessary problems before cladding cleaning was done and new colours were applied.
Visual transformation for a striking finish
Our team set to work recoating the full area of the building cladding, with exceptional results. The finished façade is a sleek and polished black. Its appearance is striking, with a clean, smooth and professional image that matches the company’s strong reputation.
What’s more, the logo is now more boldly showcased. The contrast of the yellow branding and the black cladding façade finish helps the DHL name to stand out, with help from our team’s repainting in colours that perfectly match the business’ famous brand.
Site management for a successful completion
The full DHL project was managed by Jacob Eastwood, Assistant Contracts Manager. A specialist in on-site spraying and site management, Jacob was perfectly placed to take care of this project and the client could rest assured they were in safe hands.
In fact, the 7000m² wall cladding project was completed ahead of schedule: testament to Jacob and the team’s excellent work and our commitment as a company to always exceed our clients’ expectations.
In September 2020, we met with our client to sign off the project. We did this in person, on site (of course, fully compliant with social distancing guidelines). The result is a refurbished property that looks like a completely new building.
Is your façade looking tired and worn? Are you worried your company reputation is being damaged by poor building appearance? Ask us how we can deliver a finish that can make your building look brand new, just as we did for DHL.
