Maximising wellbeing with waterside views was crucial for this window refurbishment project, which saw our expert team attend Opus’s site for many weeks across well-coordinated project stages.

Our client’s building sits in a particularly stunning setting, with its windows overlooking the waterside and its wildlife. They knew how important it was for employee wellbeing that their staff could enjoy and experience these surroundings.

Yet in order for the building’s external environment to be appreciated to its full potential, the building itself needed to perform to its best, placing window refurbishment as Opus’s top priority. Naturally, that’s where the expert team at Cladding Coatings stepped in.

Window refurbishment for waterside wellbeing

We began by recoating the windows and doors on the primary office building on site, closest to the waterside and ducks swimming by. Interior upkeep is crucial for windows and doors, as window frames can be prone to cut-edge corrosion and weathering if they are not properly maintained.

This phase covered the interior windows of the offices to the boundary we’d identified when we carried out our initial free on site survey. This meant we could determine exactly what our client required in advance – so not only could we then provide a clear quotation, we could also get to work the moment we arrived on site, without delay.

Choosing the latest leading window coating paint system

We set to work on the 87m immediate perimeter of the building, attending to window surfaces. We installed the Zinsser Allcoat system to all required surfaces. One of the newest additions to our ever-growing portfolio of leading systems, the Allcoat paint is provided by one of our longest-standing suppliers. Therefore, both our team and our clients can trust it will deliver with its ultimate performance properties and multiple colour choices to suit all schemes. Phase two saw us set to work on the internal window coating, addressing the remaining offices belonging to our client. Again, we installed the Zinsser Allcoat system for paint and application consistency throughout, recoating the window and doors surfaces on the immediate perimeter of the building, covering approximately 78m in length. Again, this required two weeks’ expert application to achieve both our and our clients high standards across every aspect.

Covering all details for a smart, uniform finish property-wide

Of course, the external recoating was a crucial part of the Opus’s scheme of work, too. Using the extremely versatile Zinsser Allcoat paint, this time we applied the exterior paint system to all the windows and cladding on the four external walls of the building.

We also installed the same system to four doorways: two reception doors, and two further doorways (including internal sides, canopy steels, and the area on the atrium detail that could be accessed safely). Receiving the same treatment as the windows, this ensured the doors not only looked welcoming but performed properly for complete safety and security across the entire property.

Blending indoor and outdoor settings

Last but not least, we attended to the courtyard, where we installed the Zinsser Allcoat paint system to the windows and doors on the interior side of the courtyard. This provided a professional and cohesive finish across the entire unit, making sure the external environment of the waterside surroundings was complemented by the peaceful and polished setting of the property’s courtyard.
