CLADDING COATINGS WORKS WITH NEW CLIENT TO REPAIR & BRAND WAREHOUSE FACILITY IN GATESHEAD
Cladding Coatings is pleased to have been chosen by Tripak Ltd to repair, refurbish and their new warehouse facility which is situated close to the company head office based in Gateshead, Tyne & Wear.
Established in 1980, Tripak is a leading supplier of specialist manufacturing and packaging consumables to industry providing solutions both across the UK and also world-wide.
Tripak’s management team chosen the well positions new warehouse facility on Crowther Industrial Estate due to its locality to the company’s head office, this purchase came as a result of continued expansion to hold their packaging supplies which are then sold on.
Tripak’s team had researched into various contractors likes Cladding Coatings before choosing us for the project, this detailed research had meant the new warehouse was already occupied by Tripak’s warehouse team.
The warehouse is located in a prominent position in the Crowther Industrial Estate complex, Tripak were keen to carry out the necessary refurbishment before erecting new signage to the warehouse and further promoting their company expansion in the local area.
On visiting the site, Cladding Coatings found the building to be in a poor state of repair, the previous owners had used various paint systems to protect the building which seemed to have failed in many areas resulting in corrosion and bare metal being visible throughout.
We could see why Tripak had chosen such a prominent property but also why they needed to complete the refurbishment before associating their established and expanding business with the new location.
This project presented some access issues for our team to consider prior to commencing work. As with all new sites we instructed AFI, our chosen access partner to visit and survey the site to recommend appropriate access for our teams to prepare and paint the metal cladding walls.
In addition, there was a challenging banking which was deemed too soft to drive onto and also a boggy area at the bottom of the banking. Our teams were made aware of this and we accommodated this by using our ground guard protection system which created a stable platform for our scissor lifts to work on. The teams also planned their work process to ensure that minimum visits or journeys were required over the boggy area and we were ready to paint the area the same day after pressure washing was complete. All of this type of fine tuning our process comes with years of experience that we have at completing this type of project which helps avoid getting any MEWP’s stuck which would damage the landscape and delay the project.
Cladding Coatings project with Tripak included the preparation and respraying of the metal cladding, windows and doors and repairing some areas of cladding before they could be applied with the paint system. Furthermore we installed Plastisol coated cladding window covers to the ground floor windows to create a security measure that tied in with the colour scheme Tripak had chosen of Anthracite Grey. The cladding was coated with Noxyde and Rust-o-leum systems with a metal cladding topcoat.
The finished result is really impressive and the selected colour scheme works really well with the Tripak brand colours. It is now the best looking property on the estate and easily recognisable for any delivery drivers.
The new warehouse operation is now a prominent landmark in the industrial estate and one the Tripak team is proud of.
