As our communities continue to grow, the demand for efficient logistical operations increases. This is why it is important for logistics companies to not only keep up with the demand but also ensure that their facilities are well-maintained and efficient.
Recently, Howard Tenens’ Groundwell site in Swindon underwent a logistical refurbishment that included the refurbishment of external walls and the addition of solar panels. In this blog post, we will take a closer look at the details of this project and how it transformed the building’s performance.
Onsite spraying was carried out to the external metal wall cladding on all elevations of the building. This was done to ensure that the building’s exterior was uniform in appearance and aesthetically pleasing. At the same time, the roof area received a complete respray to provide a uniform finish to this expansive building. But before the roof coating work could begin, the RoofSafe system was installed to ensure that all team members were safe while working at height. The 3M™ DBI-SALA® RoofSafe Anchor and Cable System provides reliable protection in case of accidents while working at height.
Cutting-edge corrosion treatment was then carried out on the roof, which involved the application of a specialised metal coating. The Noxyde® system from Rust-Oleum was used for the external cladding. This was a trusted choice, thanks to its high-performing coating systems and long guarantees. These benefits contributed to the project’s success, leaving behind a high-quality and long-lasting finish on the exterior of the building.
The installation of solar panels was another crucial element of this project. Howard Tenens’ Groundwell site now features solar panels on its roof area, which will save money in energy costs and improve the building’s performance. It’s a noteworthy investment that will benefit the company in the long run.
The logistical refurbishment of Howard Tenens’ Groundwell site in Swindon is an impressive undertaking that resulted in a noticeable difference in the building’s performance. The combination of onsite spraying, corrosion treatment, and installation of solar panels has made it more efficient, cost-effective, and aesthetically pleasing. It is a model for other logistics companies that seek to improve their facilities. With the right team and proper planning, any logistical facility can undergo a similar transformation. Ultimately, the benefits are undeniable.

Tuffnells, Blackburn
Tuffnells Parcel Express acquired their new depot and wanted to brand the site quickly with their own colour scheme. Work included coating metal wall cladding, fascias and loading doors. All which were in relatively good condition as the main reason for coating was the colour scheme and not for their repair. Read Case Study

We also completed refurbishments to two other sites at Andover, Sharpness and Europa Park Swindon. The goal was to improve façade appearance, maintain the buildings to prevent damage, and phase-out the old paint colours.
