The property in question consisted of a central entrance area flanked by left and right sections, each featuring extensive cladding, vents, windows, and doors beneath a canopy structure.

These areas were exposed to environmental pollutants, wear, and graffiti, necessitating comprehensive cleaning and application of our advanced coating systems. Our solution was designed not just to restore the property’s visual appeal but also to enhance its durability and protection against graffiti and weathering.

The primary objectives of this project were:

• To thoroughly clean and prepare all cladding, vents, windows, and doors under the canopy area.
• To apply a 15-year cladding coatings system for long-term protection and visual enhancement.
• To install an anti-graffiti coating system for added security and ease of maintenance.
• To ensure efficient execution with minimal disruption.

Entrance Area Refurbishment

The central entrance area served as the focal point of the property, demanding a meticulous approach to restore and protect its features. Our team undertook the following tasks:

• Cleaning: Comprehensive cleaning was carried out on all cladding, vents, windows, and doors to remove accumulated dirt, debris, and pollutants.

• 15-Year Cladding Coatings System: We applied our cladding coatings system to the metal cladding panels, ensuring robust protection against weathering and corrosion.

• Anti-Graffiti Coating System: An advanced anti-graffiti coating was installed on the lower metal cladding panels, to safeguard against vandalism and facilitate easy removal of graffiti.

This careful treatment resulted in a refreshed and resilient entrance area that reflected the image of the University.

Execution and Challenges

One of the key challenges during the project was managing labour access while minimising disruption to the day-to-day activity at the site. Our team utilised specialised equipment and scheduling strategies to ensure seamless execution. Additionally, the diverse heights and exposure levels of the cladding panels required precise planning to guarantee an even and effective application of the coatings.

Graffiti Problems

Graffiti is often found on metal cladding panels, especially in Towns and Cities where vandals target these low level areas of a façade with spray paints or markers. The graffiti affects the appearance of the building, making it looking unsightly but also causes other issues such as repeated cleaning that damages the coating surface, leading to costly repairs.

Our ani graffiti coating works by forming a surface barrier on the metal cladding that prevents paint and ink bonding, this makes it easy to remove without the need for harsh chemicals or heavy scrubbing.
